Summary
Oversees consulting project activities from client identification through final invoicing. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training and deployment. Financial responsibilities include project cost estimating and proposal generation, detailed business case development, and supporting clients with vendor negotiations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage small-medium assignments and help develop business partnerships with clients.
• Show rapid and comprehensive understanding of client culture, needs, and direct client managers towards key issues.
• Develop new opportunities with existing and new clients, adopting a strategic approach to winning sales and negotiating fees on assignments.
• Support and/or manage the bid process, develop value propositions, and coach proposal and presentation teams.
• Lead client assignment teams and manage, design, and run client workshops.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Incumbent may be required to communicate a direction given by a senior operator or supervisor.

Education and/or Experience
• Undergraduate degree in engineering or business
• Graduate degree in business (MBA) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of operational utility experience or equivalent providing consulting services to electric, gas, and water utilities
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be able to travel 50% of the time
• Relocation to Denver not mandatory
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
High Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability
Very High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
